When we moved back to the States in 1996, I returned with thousands of African fabrics that I had collected over the years. In 1998, I decided to create more quilts with these beautiful inspiring textiles. I made a piece quite similar to this one in 1991 and liked playing with the purples so much that I decided to make another one.
